December, 2008 - Gerry Matthews represented the Buyer, Pomeroy Enterprises LLC in the purchase of 91 Great Hill Road, Naugatuck, CT.  The 35,600 square foot industrial warehouse building, which was owned by S.P. Skinner Co., Inc. was purchased by Pomeroy Enterprises for $1,300,000. Calabrese Agency represented the Seller.  The property will undergo a complete facelift and receive a new heating system.

December, 2008 - Brian Godin represented both parties in the purchase/sale of a 5,000 square foot industrial condo located at 1492 Highland Avenue, Cheshire, CT.  The industrial condo was purchased for $520,000 by Eric and Ron Mueller who are moving their business, United Snack Group, from Wallingford, CT.  The new industrial condo facility was built and is owned by James Fazzone.

November, 2008 - Gerry Matthews completed the sale of 61 Pomeroy Avenue, Meriden, CT.  The 34,000 square foot theater complex and eight-acre parcel was purchased, for $3,625,000.00, by Casle Corp., who will convert the building into medical space and add two smaller buildings to the site.  Midstate Medical Center is set to lease a portion of the new facility upon completion of renovations next year.  Gerry Matthews represented the Seller, Pomeroy Enterprises LLC and William Mogensen of Mogy & Associates represented Casle Corp.

November, 2008 - Brian Godin and Ed Godin represented both parties in the leasing of 3,434 square feet at 765 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury, CT.  Dynobite Smiles, LLC, an office for pediatric dentistry, has entered into a long term lease with Mark Greenberg & Associates, the Property Owner for 765 Straits Turnpike.

November, 2008 - Gerry Matthews represented the Seller, Leonard and Elizabeth Mecca, in the sale of 400 Wolcott Road, Wolcott, CT.  The 1,200 square foot building situated on .26 acres was purchased for $211,000.00 by James Cosgrove.  Fercodini Properties represented the Buyer.

November, 2008 - Gerry Matthews completed the sale of 797 Lakewood Road, Waterbury, CT.  The 5,300 square foot building owned by 771 Properties, LLC. was sold for $525,000.00 to OSJ of Waterbury, LLC.  Gerry Matthews represented both the Buyer and Seller in this transaction.

November, 2008 - Gerry Matthews completed the sale of 1189 Wolcott Road, Wolcott, CT.  the 1,428 SF restaurant/bar with 3.29 acres sold for $280,000.00.  Coach Scully's Sport Bar had been a popular watering hole in Wolcott for over 10 years.  Gerry Matthews represented both the Seller and Buyer in this transaction.

October, 2008 - Nick Longo of Matthews Commercial and Moataz Ghounem of Nationwide Houses recently completed the sale of 91 South Leonard St, Waterbury.  The property consists of a 25,000 SF commercial building on .75 acres of land.  The property was purchased by John Sweeney for $220,710.  Moataz Ghounem represented the Buyer and Nick Longo represented the Seller, A.J. Storage, LLC.

October, 2008 - Nick Longo recently completed the sale of 1127 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT.  The property consists of a 4,200 square foot commercial building on .31 acres of land.  The property was purchased by 1127 West Main Street LLC.  Nick Longo represented the Buyer.

October, 2008 - Nick Longo of Matthews Commercial Properties and Scott Bayne of C-21 Baymar Realty completed the sale of 11 Harrison Street, Bristol, CT.  The 1,346 square foot office building and .07 acres of land was purchased  by SAB Construction Mortgage, LLC.  Scott Bayne represented the Buyer and Nick Longo represented the Seller.

September, 2008 - Brian Godin represented both parties in negotiating a long term lease of 1,300 square feet at 88 Main Street South in Southbury, CT. RML has leased the facility to accommodate their sales/service offices.

August, 2008 - Brian Godin recently completed a long term Lease for property located at 627 Watertown Avenue, Waterbury, CT.  The new tenant, Apolonia Auto Sales, will be opening in October.  Brian represented bothparties in this transaction.

3 Morse Road

August, 2008 - Ed Godin recently brokered the sale of two industrial/flex condominium units at the Oxford Corporate Center.  The new high end facility located at 3 Morse Road consists of 31,000 square feet remaining for sale of lease.

Mirtek Corporation purchased 5,040 square feet to accommodate their continued growth and will be relocated from their existing leased space in Oxford.

Karotech, Inc. has acquired 3,900 square feet and relocated from Thomaston.

August, 2008 - Charles "Chuck" Giorgio completed the sale of MJM Self Storage located at 240 Blacks Road, Cheshire, CT.  The 426 unit self storage facility situated on 2.8 acres of land was built in 2002.  Units range in size from 5x5 to 10x25.  135 of the units are climated controalled.  The entire facility is video monitored and alarmed.  MJM Self Storage was purchased for $2,600,000 by AZA Properties LLC.

July, 2008 - Gerry Matthews represented both parties in the sale of 771 Lakewood Road, Waterbury, CT.  The 27,000 square foot building had been home to the former RollerMagic Roller Skating Rink and several small retail stores.  The property was sold by 771 Properties LLC for $900,000.00.  The property was purchased by Ocean State Jobbers , parent of Ocean State Job lot who will be opening a new retail store in late September or early October.

June, 2008 - Brian Godin represented the Buyers, Geralyn and Joseph Schmitt in the purchase of the 3,750 square foot office building located at 575 Highland Avenue, Cheshire, CT. The multi-tenant office building sold for $445,000.

June, 2008 - Ed Godin completed the leasing of 12,024 SF at 756 Derby Avenue, Seymour, CT.  The building had previously been occupied by Collins Paper Box who moved their operations to Oxford.  New England Cap Company entered into a five year lease.  Ed Godin represented both parties in this transaction.

May, 2008 - Gerry Matthews and Brian Godin recently completed the sale of 572 Middlebury Road, Middlebury, CT.  The 2,500 square foot building on .20 acres of land was the site of the former Middlebury Pharmacy.  Gerry Matthews represented the Seller, Lou Reignier and Brian Godin represented the Buyer, J. R. Laliberte, Jr.  The building and land were purchased for $265,000.00 for investment purposes.

May, 2008 - Matthews Commercial Properties has for the fifth consecutive year been named among Westchester/ Southern Connecticut's 2007 CoStar Power Brokers.  The award is based on the firm’s overall leasing transaction volume for 2007.  CoStar Group is a leading provider of information services to the commercial real estate industry in the United States and United Kingdom.  Gerry Matthews, a partner in the firm, has been named Westchester/ Southern Connecticut's 2007 CoStar Power Brokers for leasing activity based on his total 2007 leasing transaction volume.  Ed Godin, a partner in the firm, was also ranked Power Broker among Westchester & Southern Connecticut’s Top 20 Brokers by CoStar Group based on his 2007 industrial leasing transaction volume.

May, 2008 - Brian Godin represented both parties in the sale of 1219 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT.  The 1,550 SF retail/professional building is located just off I-84.  J. R. Laliberte, Jr. purchased the building for investment purposes.  The building which was owned by Alan Tracey sold for $250,000.

March, 2008 - Ed Godin represented both parties in the sale of an 11,300 square foot facility at 146 Huntingdon Avenue, Waterbury, CT.  The building just off of Route 8 is situated on 4.39 acres of land and sold for $725,000.  The Buyer, JRD Properties, is a local real estate investor.  The facility will be primarily occupied by All-Star Transporation, a regional provider of transportation for school systems.

March, 2008 - Brian Godin represented both parties in the sale of 135 East Main Street, Bristol, CT.  The 5 bay car wash is located on busy Route 72.  The car wash features 3 self serve and 2 automatic bays.  The building and .96 acres of land sold for $450,000.00.

3 Morse Road

February, 2008 - Ed Godin represented both parties in the sale of a 12,519 square foot high end industrial/flex condo facility at 3 Morse Road, Oxford, CT.  The new building, situated on 2.5 acres, in the Oxford Industrial Park sold for $1,200,000.00.  The Buyer, Xal/Xenon Architectural Lighting, an Austrian company, will be establishing a manufacturing operation to accommodate their U.S. business.

February, 2008 - Nick Longo represented the Buyers, Lagassee Properties, LLC in the purchase of 140 Homer Street, Waterbury, CT.  The 12,000 square foot single story commercial building located on an acre of land was purchased from B&B Enterprises for $440,000.00.  Calabrese Agency represented the Seller.  

January, 2008 - Gerry Matthews completed the sale of "Broadcast Center" located at 101-115 South Main Street, Waterbury, CT.  Most recently the building had been occupied by the Department of Public Works and the Department of Mental Health for the State of Connecticut.  The 22,900 square foot building consisting of office and retail space, owned by 101-115 South Main Partnership, was sold for $977,000.00 to Reda B. Properties, Inc.  The new owners plan on occupying a portion of the building for their offices and will lease the balance.

January, 2008 - Brian Godin and Ed Godin recently completed the sale of 104 Waterbury Road, Prospect, CT.  14 Wood Court, Terryville, CT.  Brian Godin represented the Buyer, Antonio and Carmelina DiPietro and Ed Godin represented the Seller, Trident Associates.  The 2,500 SF commercial building and 960 SF single family house situated on .81 acres sold for $452,000.00.

January, 2008 - Brian Godin recently completed the sale of 14 Wood Court, Terryville, CT.  Brian Godin represented both the Seller, James Murdock and the Buyer, Mark Carroll in this transaction.  Mr. Carroll purchased the well mainteained investment property for $272,000.00

January, 2008 - Nick Longo completed the sale of 465 Wolcott Road, Wolcott, CT.  The 5,000 SF commercial building on .57 acres was purchaed for $525,000 by David Donnelly.  Mr. Donnelly purchased the building from Wolcott Road Investments LLC for business purposes.  Nick Longo represented the Seller and the Buyer.
