July, 2010 - Gerry Matthews and Ed Godin have completed the lease of 50,000 S/F located at 199 Park Road Extension in Middlebury, CT. The space is located in the former Timex World Headquarters. The 285,000 S/F building is owned by the Midex Corp. of New York. To date over 90,000 S/F has been leased by Matthews Commercial Properties. The new tenant, Sunbeam Partners LLC, plan to renovate the space and convert it into smaller medical and professional office suites for release. Matthews Commercial will continue to represent the Landlord, Midex Corp. as well as Sunbeam Partners LLC in leasing the building.

July, 2010 - Gerry Matthews completed the sale of the 5 acre parcel located on Plank Road, Waterbury, CT. The 5 acre parcel was purchased by the Catholic Cemetery Association for $1,900,000. Gerry Matthews represented the Seller, Plank Road Plaza LLC.

June, 2010 - Brian Godin represented both the Seller and Buyer in the sale of 135 East Main Street, Bristol, CT. The 5 bay car wash is located on busy Route 72. The car wash features 3 self serve and 2 automatic bays. The building and 0.96 acres of land sold for $430,000.00.

June, 2010 - Ed Godin Jr., SIOR recently brokered two leases totaling 14,000 square feet at Hurley Farm Industrial Park at 115 Hurley Road in Oxford, CT. The tenants are Taunton Packaging leasing 10,500 square feet and Calvary Brewing Company occupying 3,500 square feet. The landlord is The Hurley Group, a local investment group with holdings throughout the state.

June, 2010 - Gerry D. Matthews completed the sale of Spectrum Square located at 246 Wolcott Road, Wolcott, CT. The 17,684 square foot retail center is situated on 1.49 acres of land. Spectrum Square is fully leased with many long term tenants. The property was purchased for investment purposes by Mr. James Kwok for $1,250,000.00.
Gerry Matthews represented both the Seller, Mr. Al Podzunis and the Buyer, Mr. James Kwok in this transaction.

May, 2010 - Gerry D. Matthews, represented both parties in the leasing of 6,265 square feet on the third floor of the Moriarty Professional Building, located at 141 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT. The entire third floor was leased by Wellpath, Inc. for their Home-Based Services and Family Life Center. Wellpath is a regional provider that helps children, adolescent and families each year though an array of treatment and prevention programs.

April, 2010 - Matthews Commercial Properties is pleased to announce that CoStar Group has for the seventh consecutive year selected the firm as a CoStar Power Broker Award winner.  Matthews Commercial Properties qualified as one of the top brokerage firms in Westchester & Southern Connecticut based on the firm's total leasing transactions closed during 2009. Matthews and Ed Godin Jr, SIOR, both partners in the firm, were selected as CoStar Power Broker Award winners in Westchester & Southern Connecticut based on their individual total industrial leasing transactions closed during 2009. March, 2010 - Ed Godin Jr., SIOR, a Partner at Matthews Commercial Properties, brokered multiple leases totaling 14,500 square feet at Meriden Road Business Park in Wolcott, CT. The new tenants include Discount Liquors 8,500 square feet, Above All Detailing 2,500 square feet and FTS USA 3,500 square feet. The owner is The Hurley Group a local investment group with holdings throughout the state.

March, 2010 - Gerry D. Matthews and Ed Godin Jr., SIOR, recently represented both parties in the sale of a 9.6 acre parcel of industrial zoned land at Alliance Circle in Beacon Falls, CT. The property is located in the Pines Bridge Industrial Park and sold for $550,000. The Buyer, H.I. Stone & Son, Inc., is based in Southbury and ultimately plans to develop the site. The seller was ANTAR, LLC of New York.

February, 2010 - Gerry D. Matthews, Principal of Matthews Commercial Properties, represented both parties in the sale of Lauro Crest Plaza, 741-757 Wolcott Street, Waterbury, CT. The 12,724 square foot, fully leased, retail center on 1.14 acres of land sold for $1,237,500. The Seller was Sunbeam Paratners, LLC and the Buyer was Chin Min Kwok of New Jersey.

January, 2010 - Brian Godin and Ed Godin Jr. SIOR represented both parties in the leasing of 8,146 square feet at the Crossroad West Office Building at 765 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury, CT. The Tenant, Post University continues to grow and has expanded their telemarketing department into this new location.

January, 2010 - Gerry D. Matthews represented both parties in the sale of 63 Golden Street, Meriden, CT. The 14,668 square foot free-standing building and 1.17 acres of land sold for $607,500. The well maintained warehouse/ manufacturing building was purchased by Prokonian, Inc. from JaxJoe Co., LLC. Prokonian is a manufacturer of high quality electric fireplaces, mantels and electric convection heaters. The purchase is an expansion from their facility in Wolcott.

December, 2009 - Gerry D. Matthews completed the sale of 1183 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, CT. The property consists of two buildings (18,716 s/f and 4,760 s/f) and 1.10 acres of land. Gerry Matthews represented the Sellers, Robert and Charles LaFlamme. The property was purchased for investment purposes by Chin Min Kwok of New Jersey for $2,637,500.

December, 2009 - Ed Godin Jr. SIOR represented both parties in the sale of the former New Haven Copper and Brass facility at 79 Main Street in Seymour, CT. The 95,000 square foot manufacturing building is situated on 3.2 acres and included an additional adjacent .5 acre parcel of land. The building and land sold for $1,300,000. The Buyer, Group EAG LLC, a local investor purchased the property from Olin Corporation.

December, 2009 - Ed Godin Jr. SIOR reprersented both parties in the sale of a 5.5 acre parcel of industrial zoned land on Morse Road in Oxford, CT. The property is located in the Oxford industrial park area and sold for $425,000. The Buyer was a Danbury based investor that purchased the property for future development. The seller was Lakshmi Properties, LLC of New Milford.

November, 2009 - Ed Godin Jr. SIOR representd both parties in the leasing of 15,000 s/f at 172 East Aurora Street, Waterbury, CT. The new tenant, BioPur, Inc. based in Bethlehem is a producer of biodiesel alternative fuel. They will utilize the facility as a collection and processing facility for recycled agricultural vegetable oil products which will utlimately be utilized to create the biodiesel fuel at the Bethlehem operation. The Landlord is Halperin Real Estate, LLC.

November, 2009 - Gerry D. Matthews was the sole broker involved in leasing 24 Chase River Road, Waterbury, CT. The 3,900 square foot building was leased to Family Intervention Center, Inc. The long term, 10 year lease, represents an expansion of Family Intervention's counseling services and offices. 24 Chase River Road is a well maintained building owned by Robert Lenkowski, Trustee.

November, 2009 - Gerry D. Matthews and Ed Godin Jr. SIOR were the sole brokers involved in the sale of 58 Commercial Street and the adjacent 6 acre parcel located in Watertown, CT. Both properties were owned by PM Engineered Solutions.
58 Commercial Street, a 25,494 square foot manufacturing facility situated on 2.81 acres was purchased by Global Machine Brokers for $1,100,000. Global Machine Brokers purchased the building for the relocation and expansion of their business from Thomaston, CT.
The 6 acre parcel located at the corner of Commercial Street and Bunker Hill Avenue was purchased for $200,000 by the Valenti Auto Group for future investment purposes.

November, 2009 - Ed Godin Jr. SIOR represented both parties in the long term lease of 49,536 square feet at Roundhouse Industrial Park located at 567 South Leonard Street, Waterbury, CT. The Tenant is DSA Encore, based in Brookfield, CT. DSA Encore is a leader of date equipping centers, engineering solutions and re-manufacturer of equipment. This facility is a relocation and expansion of their warehousing and a portion of their remanufacturing operation. Roundhouse Industrial Park is a 150,000 square foot business park owned and managed by Benerofe Properties. Mr. Godin continues as Exclusive Agent to market a remaining space of 31,000 square feet.

October, 2009 - Brian Godin has represented both sides in the long term lease for 3,700 square feet of retail space at
120-130 South Main Street in Thomaston, CT. Lighthouse Medical Equipment has moved into the retail space for better exposure.

October, 2009 - Brian Godin and Ed Godin Jr. SIOR has represented both the Buyer and Seller in the sale of 327 Huntingdon Avenue, Waterbury, CT. The building is 8,268 square feet on 0.81 acres of land and sold for $500,000. The Buyer, Glen Dobbs / Insetta Properties LLC is relocating their company, ProxTalker.comLLC) from Thomaston into Waterbury to accommodate their continued growth.

September, 2009 - Gerry D. Matthews completed the sale of 91 Great Hill Road, Naugtauck, CT. The 36,500 square foot industrial building and 4.57 acres of land was purchased for $1,485,000. Gerry Matthews represented the Seller, Pomeroy Enterprises, who had purchased the property last year for investment purposes. The Buyer, The 91 Great Hill Co., LLC will use the facility for the warehouse and distribution of high-end, exotic car parts. Gerry Matthews has been named the Exclusive Broker for the 14,668 square foot warehouse/ manufacturing building located at 63 Golden Street, Meriden, CT, which had been occupied by the Buyer of 91 Great Hill Road.

September, 2009 - Ed Godin Jr. SIOR represented the Seller and Brian Godin represented the Buyer in the sale of a 1,574 square foot office condominium at 1449 Old Waterbury Road, Unit 303, in Southbury, CT. The Buyer, Hearing Aid Specialists of CT, will utilize the facility for their operations.

July, 2009 - Ed Godin Jr. SIOR and Brian Godin represented the Buyer in the sale of the 28,100 square foot facility at 7 Great Hill Road, Naugatuck, CT. The modern building situated on 4.4 acres of land in the Naugatuck Industrial Park sold for $1,275,000. The Buyer, Northeastern Communications, is headquartered in Waterbury, CT and will relocate their operations to accommodate their continued growth.

July, 2009 - Brian Godin and Ed Godin Jr. SIOR recently completed the sale of 461 Watertown Avenue, Waterbury.  Brian Godin represented the Buyer, The Dover Benedict Group, LLC and Ed Godin represented the Seller, CPT Associates.  The two buildings, whick total 4,500 square foot, and .65 acres of land sold for $345,000.  Dover Benedict Group purchased the property for investment purposes.

June, 2009 - Gerry D. Matthews is pleased to announce that the "United States Census 2010" has recently signed a lease with Midex Corporation to occupy space in the former Timex World Headquarters located at 199 Park Road Extension, Middlebury, CT. The Government Office will occupy 6,500 +/- square feet on the lower level of the property. The site was chosen after an extensive search lasting over five months.

June, 2009 - Ed Godin Jr. SIOR represented the Seller in the sale of a 5,038 square foot industrial condominium facility at 3 Morse Road in Oxford, CT which sold for $528,000.  This high quality facility was built and developed by Claris Construction of Newtown, CT and has one unit remaining at 3,950 square feet.  The unit was purchased by BC Flynn Contracting Corporation.

May, 2009 - Gerry Matthews represented both parties in the sale of 1082 Southford Road, Middlebury, CT.  The 2.2 acre site was purchased by a retail developer for $479,000.  The use for the 2.2 acre site has not yet been reveled.

April, 2009 - Ed Godin, SIOR represented both parties in the leasing of 11,000 SF at the Roundhouse Industrial Park which is located at 567 South Leonard Street in Waterbury, CT.  The tenant Pack-All, Inc. does packaging and warehousing for many companies and is relocated from Beacon Falls.

April, 2009 - Brian Godin and Ed Godin completed a long term lease for 454 Wolcott Street in Waterbury, CT.  The property consists of a 4,589 square foot free standing Office / Medical Building.  The new tenant, Allied Medical Associates (Physical Therapy, Chiropractic) has been serving the Waterbury Area for ten years.

April, 2009 - Gerry Matthews and Ed Godin are pleased to announce that the "United States Census 2010" has recently signed a lease with Midex Corporation to occupy space at the former Timex World Headquarters located at 199 park Road Extension, Middlebury, CT.  The Government Office will occupy 6,500 +/- square feet.  The site was chosen after an extensive search lasting over five month.  Nearly 40 full-time and up to 1,000 part-time jobs will be created.  Occupancy is scheduled for August of this year.

March, 2009 - Gerry Matthews represented the Owner, Innovative Properties LLC, in leasing 5,350 S/F of second floor office space at 61 Interstate Lane, Waterbury, CT.  The space has been leased to HRinterax, Inc. dba HR411.com.

HR411.com, is a web based, on demand Human Resources support and information portal designed specifically for small and mid-sized businesses. HR411.com contains everything a small or mid-sized business needs to protect their business and to manage, develop and grow their workforce.

March, 2009 - Gerry Matthews represented both the Owner and the Tenant in the leasing of 21 Tremont Street, Waterbury, CT.  RayPax Manufacturing has entered into a long term lease for the 3,274 S/F facility.  RayPax Mfg moved their operations from Prospect to the Waterbury address.

March, 2009 - Brian Godin has recently completed a long term lease for the property located at 572 Middlebury Road, Middlebury, CT.  The property consists of 2,500 square foot retail space.  The tenant Natural & Organic Pet LLC will be opening in May, 2009.

February, 2009 - Brian Godin and Ed Godin completed the sale of 21 Church Street, Waterbury, CT.  Brian Godin represented the Seller, Ames & Whitaker.  The Buyer, CIL Realty Inc., was represented by Ed Godin.  CIL Realty purchased the 3-story 6,500 square foot building for $475,000.00.  CIL Realty has entered into a long term lease with Mental Health Association of Connecticut for the building.
